Cover Story: ‘John
Bolitho'
The front cover features John Bolitho, Valet and
Close Body Servant to Colonel Edward Prichard, of Llancaiach Fawr Manor, near
Caerphilly in 1645. He came to Wales from Cornwall via London; no-one quite
knows how or why . . . there are rumours of a deserted wife, but nobody is sure
of the truth! The Manor has been restored and furnished so that visitors can
see it exactly as it was in 1645 and they will be greeted by the servants who
were there at that time and, perhaps, they might even meet Colonel Prichard
himself. All roles are played by volunteers and Friends. |
