BAFM WALES AREA

WALES AREA REP: JILL BELL

Upon my retirement, I joined the Friends of Tredegar House, an historic house in Newport, South Wales and I was quickly involved in stewarding at the many events held there. I was elected on to the Committee and served as Membership Secretary and Talks Organiser. Being a ‘Friend’ also meant I was a member of BAFM and I have attended both the local and Annual Conferences. The whole experience has, for me, opened up a huge social network of  friends and acquaintances. When I talk to Stewards at other properties and museums I realise how much we all have in common, a love of the past and a dedication to our chosen cause. My professional background is in Education, I obtained an Honours Degree and PGCE at the University of Wales, Cardiff, and spent many years teaching and lecturing in Comprehensive Schools and Colleges. I look forward to being BAFM Co-ordinator in Wales and hope it will be a successful three years for all.

Reports will be added as they are recieved.
